It is always difficult to provide an accurate estimate of costs due complexities which can arise during a transaction. Therefore, we would always advise you to speak with us about your case in full in order to get a cost estimate which is more likely to apply to your situation.
Prices are inclusive of VAT
If your property is leasehold, there is a supplemental fee of up to £200 plus VAT to deal with the complexities of the leasehold requirements.
In any transaction there are also other costs known as “disbursements” (i.e., payments due to third parties) which also need to be considered. These include:
You can calculate if Stamp Duty Land Tax is due on your transaction, and how much by visiting gov.co.uk website and using their free calculator.
In some circumstances, we will pay a referral fee to your estate agent. The amount received will vary depending on the property transaction and will be confirmed within your quote. The referral fee ranges from £180 (inc. VAT) to £960 (inc. VAT) and will be paid on completion of your transaction, for introducing you to us as a client.
Should a referral arrangement exist between us, you will be notified should this be the case.
Please note that this arrangement does not affect your right to choose whether or not to use Medway Law for your conveyancing needs. In addition, we would like to make it absolutely clear that should you decide to use Medway Law for your conveyancing services, then you will be our client and the referral arrangement will not affect our independence and ability to act in your best interests.
The fee paid is not additional to the figures shown and is specifically a payment made by us.
